Follow the connector manufacturer's approved cleaning method and materials. Precision surfaces and contact geometry can be damaged by unsuitable tools or solvents.
How it works in practice
Remove power and inspect before cleaning. Avoid pushing contamination deeper into contacts. Allow approved solvents to dry fully where applicable. If damage remains or cleaning instructions are unavailable, seek service guidance rather than improvising. Cleaning does not repair a bent contact.
Example and interpretation
Removing visible contamination may restore a clean interface, but a scratched mating surface still requires evaluation.
Checks before use
- Inspect first
- Use approved materials
- Avoid contact deformation
- Verify before reuse
Important limit
Do not apply household lubricants or abrasive cleaning to RF contacts.
